Mission
Bangladesh Protibandhi Kallyan Somity (BPKS) is a non-governmental, self-help organization of persons with disabilities, committed to enabling people with disabilities to be self-reliant and to participate fully in and contribute to the development process for all.
Vision
BPKS envisions that all persons with disabilities will live independently, with dignity, in a barrier-free family and community, and are equally contributive to their own and society’s development.
Philosophy
Bangladesh Protibandhi Kallyan Somity (BPKS) asserts that the rights of people with disabilities are human rights and that nothing less than equal opportunity for PWDs can be acceptable. BPKS believes that the concepts of self-help, self-actualization and complete accessibility are fundamental to this declaration.
BPKS affirms that the success of persons with disabilities influences and enhances the entire community and actualizes and accelerates the overall development of Bangladesh .
Goal
To ensure equality and opportunity in all activities by emphasizing people with disabilities through ensuring the attainment of their equal rights, access to all opportunities and full participation in nation-building activities.

Objectives
:
1. To make positive changes in the understanding and practices of society and specifically among people with disabilities themselves, and to take steps to formulate and amend appropriate policies and legislation. Then to ensure their implementation at all appropriate government and non-government levels;
2. To produce and
disseminate appropriate
materials to build positive
awareness in the community
about the rights and potential
of people with disabilities,
so that they are recognised
as an integral part of
the nation's development;
3.
To enable people with
disabilities to become
more active in the nation's
development through their own self-initiatives;
4.
To conduct training on
disability issues for
the staff of government
and non-government development
agencies and for people
with disabilities themselves;
5.
To increase the occupational
skills of people with
disabilities, to ensure
their involvement in income-generating
activities;
6.
To ensure the participation
of people with disabilities
in sporting, cultural
and recreational activities;
7.
To increase the organisational
capacity of people with
disabilities, to ensure
sustainable programs of
service.
