for the World, Germany
Bread for the World, Germany (BftW) has been a partner of BPKS since 1989. BftW initially provided support to various short-term activities of BPKS. From 2000 BftW has been providing funding support to BPKS’ PSID programs. It supported the implementation of the PSID program in Bhaluka in Mymensingh district, with Bhaluka DPOD localized as independent organization in 2005. Presently, BftW is supporting the implementation of the PSID program in 4 sub-districts of Bangladesh:
- Uttara under Dhaka district
- Narail Sadar under Narail district
- Rangamati Sadar under Rangamati
- Nilphamari Sadar under Nilphamari district
MISEREOR, Germany
Misereor has been participating in PSID program replication as a co-financer with the BftW from January 2006. CIVES MUNDI, Spain
BPKS has recently established a partnership with Cives Mundi, Spain. Cives Mundi has been supporting replication of the PSID Program in Chapainawabgonj district since January 2007. Caritas
Australia Caritas Australia is another long-term partner of BPKS. It supported the replication of the PSID program in 3 districts between 2002 to 2005. Since July 2005, Caritas Australia has been financing the replication of PSID through existing Disabled Peoples’ Organizations (DPOs) to facilitate the rapid expansion of PSID across the country. With the support of Caritas Australia, BPKS has been providing technical assistance to 29 DPOs for replication of PSID programs in their respective areas. Meherpur,
Gazipur,
Khulna,
Jessore,
Chittagong,
Manikgonj,

Caritas has also been supporting the extension and strengthening of PSID programs with local Disabled People’s Organizations to Development (DPODs) established earlier through the PSID approach and already localized as independent DPOs. These DPODs operate in the following 11 districts Tangail, Barisal, Jamalpur, Manikgonj, Bogra, Mymensingh, Kurigram, Norshingdi, Bandarban, Chandpur and Moulavibazar. CordAID
Netherlands
CordAid has supported the PSID program since 2004, providing financial support for the implementation of PSID in Companigonj in Noakhali district. This PSID program will be fully localized in October 2007.
AusAID
AusAID supported BPKS to replicate the PSID program in the Sadar sub-district of the Bandarban Hill Tracts. It is presently providing support through its Direct Assistance Program (DAP) for the promotion of Grassroots Therapy Services under PSID in 6 districts: Nilphamari, Jamalpur, Narail, Narsingdi, Noakhali and Dhaka.

USA
BPKS
has a strong affiliation
with One Family International
(OFI) of the USA. OFI
acts as an overseas advocate
for BPKS, communicating,
motivating and coordinating
donors, support agencies
and facilitating funding
for BPKS. The Executive
Director of OFI, Mr Bill
Winkley, has visited BPKS
in Bangladesh a number
of times. In 2003 and 2006, Mr
Winkley conducted a strategic
planning workshops for
BPKS.
Australian
Volunteers International
(AVI)
AVI has provided BPKS with volunteers who are skilled technical professionals and assist BPKS program implementation. AVI has provided BPKS with 6 volunteers between 1999 and 2007.
