BPKS has strong networks and affiliations with other organizations from the grassroots to the national and international levels, having established partnerships with and gained support from both government and non-government sectors. This support allows BPKS to play an active role in ensuring the basic human and fundamental constitutional rights, opportunities and participation for people with disabilities in Bangladesh and at the international level.

A member of several government bodies in the country, BPKS continues to play an active role in the government sector. BPKS is a member of the following government committees:

  • Executive Committee Member of the National Foundation for the Development of Disabled Peoples
  • Disability Allowance Steering Committee
  • National Co-ordination Committee on Disability
  • National Co-ordination Committee on Aging
  • National Co-ordination Committee on Family
  • National Disability Action Plan Implementation Steering Committee

In the non-government sector, BPKS was the founder member and the founding president of the National Forum of Organizations Working with the Disabled (NFOWD). BPKS was also one of the four founding organizations of the Center for Disability and Development (CDD).

BPKS is the current founder and president of the National Alliance of Disabled Peoples' Organizations (NADPO), which was formed in 2005 by approximately 200 disabled peoples’ self-help organizations and is now a leading network for disabled people in the country.
